The Sydney Street extension seamlessly blends the original house with the new extension footprint by finishing the whole scheme in an insulated rendered finish. This not only allows a significant improvement to the energy efficiency of the build, but also results in a scheme that looks like it had been designed originally as a larger house, rather than being extended.

The private client was heavily involved with making the build as energy efficient and self-sufficient as possible within a domestic scale. High thermal insulation levels where archived throughout the building fabric to minimise heat loss together with the inclusion of rainwater harvesting and solar energy collection.
